2012 Airport Service Quality Award Marks Second Time KIND Receives Top Honors
The Indianapolis International Airport (KIND) has been recognized as 2012’s best airport in North America by Airports Council International (ACI) as part of the prestigious annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards for performance excellence. KIND was also named best airport in North America for 2010. It has been ranked in the top three airports in North America since that time.
The annual awards program identifies the most passenger-friendly airports throughout the world. Results are derived from ASQ’s year-round passenger satisfaction surveys conducted in gate areas.
“Being the best airport in North America wouldn’t be possible without world-class employees,” said Robert Duncan, executive director for the Indianapolis Airport Authority. “I am proud of their dedication and I especially thank our front-line staff who greet our guests and keep our facilities clean, safe, and operational around the clock.”
ACI’s top airports by region include:
Africa: Cape Town
Asia-Pacific: Seoul Incheon
Europe: Moscow Sheremetyevo
Latin America – Caribbean: Cancun
Middle East: Abu Dhabi
North America: Indianapolis
Since its creation in 2006, the ASQ Awards have become the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark with over 275 airports participating. The ASQ Awards recognize and reward the best airports in the world based on ACI's ASQ passenger satisfaction survey and represent an opportunity to celebrate the commitment of airports worldwide to continually improve the passenger experience.
