Mooney Provides One-Year Subscription to SiriusXM With New Aircraft

Offer Pilots And Passengers SiriusXM’s Top-Tier Weather, Info And Audio Entertainment On All Models

SiriusXM and Mooney International Corporation have announced that Mooney is the first manufacturer to provide its customers with a one-year subscription to SiriusXM’s satellite-delivered aviation weather, information, and audio programming services with the purchase of a new aircraft.

Mooney customers will receive a one-year subscription to SiriusXM’s top-tier Aviation Weather and Information services plus the SiriusXM All Access programming package, which offers the full spectrum of SiriusXM audio entertainment. This mirrors the successful SiriusXM program offered to millions of consumers each year when they purchase cars and trucks.

“At Mooney we design, build, and test innovative aircraft with one goal – to give our customers the best next generation GA aircraft in the world,” said Lance Phillips, Mooney’s director of sales and marketing.  “SiriusXM shares a similar passion to be the best in class, which is why their weather, info and audio programming offerings are second to none.  We’re excited to have them on board to help our pilots be aware of the latest weather conditions along their route, while keeping them entertained along the way.”

“We are very pleased to be launching our new aviation program with Mooney, an established and well-respected leader in the industry,” said Dave Wasby, VP, Aviation, Marine and Music for Business for SiriusXM.  “Our team is proud Mooney offers our top tier Weather service in all the aircraft across their line-up.  Mooney is providing their pilots critical features that are not available on other services – via uninterrupted service coast-to-coast from taxi to touchdown.  Adding SiriusXM’s All Access package means everyone on board can enjoy the best in audio entertainment – all flight long.”

Mooney Aircraft feature Garmin avionics to deliver SiriusXM Aviation Weather. Features include:

  • High-Resolution Composite Reflectivity Radar
  • Surface Visibility
  • NEXRAD Storm Cell Attributes
  • Lightning Strike Locations

Plus other capabilities that ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast) doesn’t offer including:

  • No Line-of-Sight Restrictions
  • No Altitude Limitations
  • No Gaps in Coverage Coast-to-Coast
  • Weather & Info from Taxi to Landing

The new Mooney Acclaim and Ovation Ultras received FAA certification in March 2017 and the factory is now beginning to ramp-up to full production as first deliveries of the new aircraft are scheduled to begin in July.
