WACO Classic Announces All Glass Aircraft

Traditional Meets Tomorrow In 1930's Style Biplane

WACO Classic Aircraft says it has produced a first for single engine General Aviation; an all glass panel aircraft, the WACO YMF open cockpit biplane. This plane is completely without a single round or analog gauge.

This WACO has the safety enhancing features offered by the new Garmin GTS 800 Traffic System, integrated Terrain Alerting System, XM weather data link, and is the first OEM to offer and install an Electronic Standby Instrument, the L-3 Trilogy. The panel includes Garmin G500 PFD/MFD, GTS 800 Traffic Advisory System, GNS 430W GPS/NAV/COM/WAAS, GMA 340 Audio Panel, SL40 COM, GTX 327 Transponder, GPS MAP 696, JP Instruments' EDM 930 Primary Engine Data Management, and L-3 Communication's Electronic Standby Instrument ESI-1000, Trilogy.

Most Avionics equipment manufacturers wouldn't consider certifying this equipment for a 1930's style aircraft, but the forward thinking engineers and sales teams at Garmin and L-3 Communications made it possible. WACO Classic says the company is excited to have transformed the WACO's classic instrument panel to a fully equipped one with advanced avionics, while still preserving the beauty of the Golden Age of Aviation in a "pure fun" biplane.
