Woman Makes Unscheudled Return Flight To Pakistan

Reportedly Slept Through A Plane's Two-Hour Layover In Paris

No one is quite sure how a sleeping woman on an airplane in Paris managed to miss the attention of the cabin crew, and apparently no one was booked in her seat for the plane's return flight to the Pakistani city of Lehore. As a result, Patrice Christine Ahmed wound up back in Lehore after a 7,700 mile trip ... and she still wanted to get to Paris.

Pakistan International Airlines is investigating how the ground crew at Charles de Gaulle airport managed to allow the woman to sleep through the layover and stay on the plane. But airline spokesman Sultan Hasan told the French news service AFP that "there is also the responsibility of the passenger to disembark at the destination."

Ahmed, who is married to a Pakistani, did not mention her mistake to the cabin crew as the plane flew back to Lehore. She was eventually challenged by immigration officials in Pakistan Wednesday morning after her 18-hour flight.

There was no PIA flight back to Paris, so the woman was placed on a flight with another airline. PIA said it did not yet know who would be charged for the flight, but either the contract company that hired the Paris ground crew who did not wake her up or the woman herself would be held responsible.
