Lufthansa Systems Releases Lido mPilot 6.1

Lufthansa Systems Releases Updated Charting Solution Lido mPilot 6.1 For iPADs

On 26th April 2022, Lufthansa Systems announced that the newly updated Lido mPilot 6.1 for iPADs is now available in the App Store. The Lido mPilot solution is specifically designed with and for pilots to improve usability, visibility, workflow process, situational awareness and, equally important, efficiency in data downloads.

The new version of the app was tested by pilots of KLM Roya Dutch Airlines who stated that the single procedure selection feature for takeoff and landing by runway and type was a significant improvement that has saved them ‘flight setup’ time. A ’cool’ weather feature is the dynamic building of the pertinent route weather ‘corridor’ on both sides of the flight path, thereby focusing pilot attention and yielding a nearly 90% reduction in data pull. The new Lido mPilot also sports enhanced dark mode colors to improve visibility in low-light conditions in conjunction with chart legibility to reduce eye strain.

Testing by Jet2 confirmed that app registration is much easier via mobile device management (MDM) such that a once-onerous process is reduced to a non-event. The administrator for the appropriate airline can configure and distribute the registration profiles to their pilots to pre-fill the required information and, through Lido’s network, accelerate device approval and registration.

Lufthansa systems GmbH, an information technology service provider based in Raunheim, Germany, employs over 2000 at its HQ and 16 other countries. It was founded in 1995 and operates under the umbrella of the Lufthansa organization, which also includes Lufthansa Airlines, the second-largest European airline in terms of passengers transported.
