Goldstein: 'We Are Focused On Enhancing Flight Safety'
Hilton Software LLC has rolled out the addition of ADS-B traffic to WingX Pro7 that seamlessly integrates traffic targets into its unique patent-pending dual-screen moving map. WingX Pro7 will initially support 1090 MHz ADS-B traffic and add 978 MHz ADS-B traffic in May 2012. WingX Pro7 Version 6.4’s moving map now highlights obstacles on enroute charts and dynamically declutters the screen as the user pinch-zooms.
“We introduced ADS-B weather over a year ago at Sun-n-Fun 2011 – scores of pilots flooded our booth watching the infamous Sun-n-Fun tornado heading directly towards us," said Hilton Software LLC CEO Dr. Hilton Goldstein. "Many WingX Pro7 users are flying with ADS-B Out equipment or are flying in high-traffic areas in which there are ADS-B-equipped aircraft. We are focused on enhancing flight-safety, most recently we added Synthetic Vision, terrain overlays, and the new Passive RADAR Altimeter. Now we have extended our ADS-B technology lead by using the traffic location information embedded in the ADS-B data stream for accurate traffic depiction. We have also optimized our ADS-B decoder to minimize CPU usage (for longer battery life) and for maximum compatibility with ADS-B receivers we anticipate becoming available later this year.”
Availability WingX Pro7 Version 6.4 is a free update for registered users. WingX Pro7 is available for iPad and iPhone and is available for download from the App Store and iTunes.
