Singapore Airlines Jets Touch Wingtips At Changi

Things That Go Bump On The Ramp, Part... We've Lost Count

Two Singapore Airlines jets are now having some bodywork done, after scraping wingtips on the ramp at Changi International Airport this weekend.

Company spokesman Stephen Forshaw told The Associated Press two Boeing 777s suffered minor damage in Sunday's taxiway encounter.

"It is reported that the wingtips of two aircraft came into contact while both aircraft were taxiing at low speed," Forshaw said.

Both aircraft suffered minor damage.

Passengers onboard both aircraft were transferred to other planes for their flights to Rome and Copenhagen, and an investigation has begun into the close encounter of the grounfd separation kind.

Say... is it too late to order the "folding wing" option Boeing once offered on the Triple-Seven? There may yet be market for it after all...
