1200-Watt 'Wall Outlet' From 28 VCD Input
A new, high-power static inverter, the TI1200, has been introduced by True Blue Power at the AEA convention in Washington, D.C. The inverter produces 115 VAC at 60 Hz for 1200 watts of “wall outlet” power from an aircraft’s 28 VDC input. It powers high-tech cabin solutions, including in-flight entertainment systems, on-board galleys, or devices such as emergency medical and law enforcement equipment.
“With the TI1200, today’s large and complex long-range business jets can provide the convenience of an ‘office in the sky‘ or power equipment like microwave ovens and coffee-makers through outlets that are virtually identical to those found at home,” said True Blue Power’s, John Gallman. “Operators of fixed and rotor-wing aircraft can simply plug-in electrical devices and recharge laptops, cell phones or other electronics. They can use standard power cords without the need for any adapters, or fear of power surges or intermittent current.”
The TI1200 provides a higher level of power per pound than larger and heavier competing inverters. At 7.3 pounds, the unit is a “drop-in” replacement for older-technology inverters and can be installed without requiring additional wiring or mounting. The TI1200 produces clean, uninterrupted power with a sine wave output, minimal harmonic distortion and nearly 90% efficiency. It comes with a 2-year warranty and is competitively priced.
True Blue Power is a division of Mid-Continent Instrument Co., Inc. The True Blue Power product line initially featured two inverters — the TI500 and TI10 — plus the TS835 Emergency Power Supply (EPS), the industry’s first EPS to feature A123 Systems’ Nanophosphate® lithium-ion technology. Nanophosphate lithium-ion technology offers stable chemistry, faster charging, consistent output, excellent cycle life and superior cost performance. True Blue Power products combine proven technology with the superior quality, ingenuity and decades of experience that customers have come to expect from Mid-Continent Instrument Company.
