Aero-TV: FAA's Huerta at Redbird 2015 - ADS-B, FAA Re-Auth, & ATC Privatization

Michael Huerta Discusses Some Futuristic Options For GA

At the Redbird Migration 2015, FAA Administrator Michael Huerta was featured as a keynote speaker. He touched on a lot of subjects which included ADS-B, the FAA Reauthorization Act, and ATC privatization. In this video you’ll hear firsthand what Huerta has to say about these subjects.

In this presentation, he starts off by reminding all of us that we are always learning, and that something new is always coming along. He points out that ADS-B is one of these changes, and he proceeds to describe details about the progress that the FAA is making on implementing this new system.

As he speaks about FAA Reauthorization, he say that over the last few years funding for the FAA has been, to say the least, disorganized and subject to numerous changes. During the discussion on FAA Reauthorization, he mentions the proposed privatization of the ATC system and a possible change in the method of charging for ATC services. He also points out that with a Reauthorization Bill in place, the FAA will be more stabilized and better able to plan for the future.

This video will bring you up-to-date regarding the FAA’s views on important issues to all of aviation.
