Achieves Full Approval from Boeing

Solutia Inc. has disclosed that Boeing Aircraft has granted full approval for use of Skydrol PE-5 hydraulic fluid in all its prior and current aircraft. "Skydrol PE-5 is a state of the art fluid that not only meets the needs of Boeing's current airplanes but also meets Boeing's demanding requirements for its next generation aircraft," said Solutia's Richard Altice, Vice President of Commercial Services, Technical Specialties.

Skydrol PE-5 hydraulic fluid is now approved and listed in the Boeing Material Specifications and Qualified Products Lists as a Type V Fluid in DMSQPL2014, and Type V Grades A and C in BMS3-11N.

Solutia's Vice President of Business Management, Technical Specialties, Greta Senn, added, "I am so proud of our global Skydrol team. Together, the team has invented a ground-breaking new aviation hydraulic fluid, demonstrated successful manufacturing capability and undergone exhaustive flight service testing. The fact that Skydrol PE-5 has now achieved full approval by one of the world's leading airframe manufacturers is a testament to the strength of our team and our product."
