Another WIN For The Good Guys: New Jersey Airport Noise Lawsuit Dismissed

Suit Had Been Brought By Bucks Residents For Responsible Airport Management

A lawsuit against the management of Trenton-Mercer airport has been dismissed by the U.S. District Court in Trenton.

The suit was filed by Bucks Residents of Responsible Airport Management (BRRAM), and sought to compel the FAA to conduct an environmental study of the airport's operations that would include a noise mitigation study, according to a report from buckslocalnews.com.

But Judge Peter Sheridan said in a one-page decision that the court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case. The airport is located just across the Delaware River from Bucks County, PA.

Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes said that Trenton-Mercer Airport has always and will continue to abide by all FAA rules and regulations. He said that "all along, we believed this case was without merit."

BBRAM President Holly Bussey said the ruling was disappointing, but not surprising. She said that the work of the group is not necessarily done, and that it was examining "the next steps to take."
