NEW Bi-Weekly Airborne 07.03.12: FAA v LSA, Pilot Bill of Rights, Airshow Losses

Also: Beech Missing Man Flight, Chinese Astros, Airbus In Alabama, SpaceShipTwo Progress

Guess what??? GREAT NEWS!! Another Aero-Week means TWICE AS MUCH Aero-News! Airborne now comes to you TWICE a week, Tuesday and Fridays, (with occasional exceptions for special event weeks and associated coverage). Each week, you’ll get your dose of Airborne on Tuesday as well as Friday, allowing us to make the news more timely for you.

The recent publication of an FAA 'Notice Of Policy' is creating some concern among the LSA community. While ANN raised this possibility in stories appearing last year, after a few audits went bad and manufacturers were restricted, we're displeased to see the FAA take this course of action at a time when the LSA industry is, at best, struggling to stay alive. It was a tough weekend for the airshow community... as an L-39 Albatros went down in South Africa, and a deHavilland Hummingbird, DH53, went down in the UK. AND...
After a year-long effort, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK),  saw his proposed “Pilots’ Bill of Rights” pass in the Unites States Senate. We have ALL this and SO MUCH MORE in this edition of AIRBORNE!

As always, PLEASE keep sending us your feedback and ideas... you have no idea how important that is to us as we evolve the Airborne mission. As we listen to your critiques, we're getting a far better idea as to how to tweak and fine-tune future Airborne programming to fit your needs. We think you're going to like what we have in mind for the future.

Don’t forget that we’ll be bringing you live coverage of Oshkosh again this year, with Daily Airborne Programs, Monday through Friday, July 23rd through 27th at 8PM Central Time. We hope you’ll join us.

Airborne 07.03.12 is chock full of info about the week ending Friday, July 3rd, 2012...
