Preparing For The Last Goodbye

Military Jets To Fly Missing Man Over Nation's Capital

Thirteen F-15Es roared over downtown Washington early Tuesday morning, startling rush-hour motorists in what was a practice session for Wednesday's state funeral.

The nation's capital is getting ready to say goodbye to former President Ronald Reagan, who died Saturday at the age of 93.

Wednesday’s flight will involve 21 F-15E aircraft.

Based at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (NC), the aircraft will fly perpendicular to Constitution Ave., South to North, at 1,000 feet above the ground. Coordinated between the Federal Aviation Administration, the US Air Force, the US Secret Service, and the US Capitol Police, the fly-by will take only 60 seconds.
