Planetary Resources Moves Resource Exploration To The 'Final Frontier'

Chris Lewicki To Present Keynote Speech At The Vancouver Resource Investment Conference

A keynote presentation by Planetary Resources' Chris Lewicki will be made at the annual Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (VRIC) 2014. VRIC is the world's largest investment conference dedicated to natural resources, held in Vancouver, Canada.

Planetary Resources is embarking on the world's first mission to identify economic resource deposits in outer space, with the goal of "harnessing the most valuable resources beyond Earth," noted Chris Lewicki, President and Chief Engineer of Planetary Resources, Inc. in conversation with Cambridge House this week. In discussing the value of a potential space discovery, Lewicki remarked, "Imagine being able to pinpoint the value of Manhattan Island, or the most valuable resource that we've found in the various corners of the Earth, but in space... We as human beings are now able to do just that."

As Planetary Resources works towards the identification and demonstration of viable resource deposits in asteroids, data collected will be groundbreaking, and according to Lewicki, "There are different parts of the economy that are interested in the information and the ability to be ahead of the rest of the pack in monetizing this opportunity."

That opportunity has so far attracted strategic investments in the company by such business luminaries as Google founder and executive chairman, Larry Page and Eric Schmidt, respectively, Ross Perot Jr., Sir Richard Branson, and many others.

Future investment opportunities and potential public listing may be a possibility, as the company is currently conducting very early stage space exploration and data "fieldwork."

Planetary Resources will also have a booth on VRIC's tradeshow floor, where "We'll display rocks from space, meteorites that people can pick up, touch, and see the material that we're talking about," Lewicki further added.
