RSW Promotes Her To Governmental Affairs Director

Debra A. Lemke has been promoted to the position of department director of governmental affairs for the Lee County Port Authority. She directs funding strategies, governmental coordination and grant-related issues for Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field General Aviation Airport in Fort Myers.

“Ms. Lemke has been instrumental in helping to make Southwest Florida International Airport a leading beneficiary of both state and federal grants,” said Robert M. Ball, A.A.E., executive director of the Lee County Port Authority. “Her strong relationships with governmental and regulatory agencies, as well as legislators and their staffs, help us work effectively on a variety of airport-development projects.”

Lemke joined the Port Authority in 1985 and has served as governmental affairs manager since 1994. She is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives and belongs to the organization’s Southeast Chapter. She has been a member of the Florida Airports Council since 1993 and currently serves on its State Affairs Committee and as vice chair of its Federal Affairs Committee.
