Lycoming Authorized Service Centers Exclusively Offer Newest Mooney STC

Mooney Owners Have Growing Network From Which To Choose

Lycoming Engines has named Lycoming Authorized Service Centers the sole installers for its newest Echelon supplemental type certificate (STC), which covers the Mooney M20E, M20F and M20J. The announcement was made Monday.

Mooney owners will be able to able to choose from among nearly 50 Authorized Service Centers to upgrade their engines to the more powerful, more efficient IO-390-A3A6.

"We have systematically identified some of the best-trained and best-operated service centers all over the world," says Michael Everhart, Lycoming director of Distribution Management & Customer Service. "We are absolutely confident that their skill and capabilities will provide Mooney owners the kind of customer service and support Lycoming owners have come to expect."

Lycoming began authorizing service centers in July, in part to provide a higher level of aftermarket support to legacy engines and aircraft. To apply for Authorized Service Center (ASC) designation, facilities must meet specified equipment and facility requirements, maintain required staff training levels, meet or exceed required levels of quality and professionalism, and be capable of handling fly-in customers.

"These centers meet or exceed our standards, forming the backbone of a quality customer support network of dependable, honest, competent and professional service providers," Everhart says.

The STC includes a new or rebuilt IO-390-A3A6, Slick Start System and required documentation. In addition, Hartzell has certified both two-blade and three-blade propellers for the STC.
