NBAA Announces Summer Forums

In Chicago, Hong Kong And Seattle

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has three Business Aviation Regional Forums planned for this summer -- including its first international forum -- in Chicago, Hong Kong and Seattle. NBAA's Regional Forums bring together business aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, customers and other industry personnel for networking and information sharing at some of the best airports and FBOs worldwide. All business aviation industry personnel, potential and present, are invited to attend.

NBAA Regional Forums are designed to meet the needs of regional business aviation communities and to provide an introduction to local business leaders interested in learning more about business aviation. Because forums are hosted regionally, Exhibitors and Attendees can meet with sales prospects and colleagues who share concerns and ideas relative to their particular geographic regions.

The summer 2004 Forums will be held:

  • June 24 at DuPage Flight Center on DuPage Airport (DPA), with exhibits located at T-Bird Aviation, in West Chicago (IL)
  • July 15 and 16 at Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre on Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) in China
  • August 26 at Boeing Field/King County International Airport (BFI) in Seattle (WA)

On June 24, the Chicago-area forum is expected to be the largest one yet, with more than 70 Exhibitors, 30 aircraft on Static Display and 1,000 Attendees. The agenda will include several briefings of interest to the business aviation community in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. Briefing topics include security for business aviation operations, the importance of the factory/service center relationship, transitioning from paper to electronic charting, runway incursions, aircraft purchase considerations and analyzing the corporate shuttle option. On July 15 and 16 in Hong Kong, NBAA will host its ABACE forum, which is planned as a pre-cursor to the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE) that will debut next year in Shanghai, China. The ABACE Forum in Hong Kong will feature aircraft from Gulfstream and Bombardier, indoor exhibits from Metrojet and B/E Aerospace, and more. The purpose of this forum is to identify issues hindering business aviation growth in China, to prioritize those issues and to put together a plan for moving forward. Business aviation is the vehicle that will allow Chinese companies to conduct business globally and allow the rest of the world the access to tap into this vast market. The event is conveniently located on Hong Kong International Airport and the host hotel, the Regal Airport Hotel, has offered outstanding rates. For more information, visit:

On August 26, the Seattle-area forum will be held in conjunction with an NBAA Maintenance Management Workshop and NBAA Regulatory Issues Forum. Briefing topics will include security for business aviation operations, getting the most from aircraft OEMs, regulatory options for business aviation operations, mission profiling, preventing and eliminating maintenance incidents, transitioning from paper to electronic charting, planning domestic flights into RVSM airspace, justifying aircraft modifications and retrofit projects, flight department management systems and a local group update. The final NBAA Business Aviation Regional Forum of the year will take place this fall, on November 18 in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. (Details to be announced.)
