Chicago BASE Jumpers Evade Police After Trump Jump

Police Release Surveillance Photos Of Three Climbing Stairs To The 92nd Floor

Three BASE jumpers managed to successfully make it to the 92nd floor of Chicago's trump International Hotel and Tower June 19, and have so far evaded police despite clear photos of the men as they climbed the stairs to the top of the building.

The building is the second-tallest in Chicago. ABC News reports that police say that the trio cut through a locked door to get onto the roof of the building 1,170 feet above the city streets. One is wearing a white shirt and tie, presumably to blend in with the luxury hotel and condo's residents as he made his way to the roof.

The jump reportedly occurred around midnight. By the time hotel security alerted local police to the intrusion, the three were off the roof, on the ground, and blended back into the city.

One resident of the building told ABC News that he does not know how the trio accessed the roof. He said that he has an electronic key that only allows him to access his floor of the tower, and that it is "like Fort Knox" getting to the 91st floor.

It is not the first time BASE jumpers have taken a leap from the building. Authorized professional jumpers did so in 2010 during the filming of Transformers 3. A year later, a British man made an unauthorized jump from a hi-rise under construction across the river from the Trump. He landed in front of a police officer and was immediately arrested.
