Man Critically Injured In Revo Trike Accident

Plane Went Down At Newark, IL Airport

An airplane identified as an Evolution Trikes Revo went down Saturday morning a Cushing Field in LaSalle County, IL, according to authorities.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the 63-year-old pilot was critically injured in the accident, which happened on the runway at Cushing Field. He was trapped in the wreckage of the airplane and required "heavy extrication" to free him from the aircraft.

FAA records indicated that the plane is owned by a man in Williamsburg, VA. The pilot was the only person on board the aircraft at the time of the accident.

The pilot was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL, where he was listed in critical condition, according to Newark Fire Protection District spokesman David Earl Thompson.
