Innotech Aviation To Open New Paint Facility In July

Marc Savoie Named Manager Of Montreal Center

With the walls now going up, Innotech Aviation’s new state-of-the art 41,000 paint preparation and application facility is scheduled to open doors to clients in July, 2008. The company began its construction in late November last year, having finalized the design in the Fall.

The new paint capability completes Innotech Aviation’s service offering at Montreal’s Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport, Dorval - completions, refurbishments, maintenance, avionics, engineering, and now paint.

Marc Savoie, now onboard with Innotech as the paint facility operations manager, is finalizing the operational plans and building his new team. Savoie has many years of direct management experience in the painting and completion of business aircraft. He also has a strong mechanical background as a licensed M1 and M2 Canadian aircraft maintenance engineer.

"I welcome the challenges in building North America’s newest aircraft paint building, incorporating the industry’s highest standards," said Savoie. "Providing customer satisfaction, understanding customers’ expectations, and employees’ health and safety will be my top priorities as I fulfill this role."

"We are pleased to announce the appointment of Marc as manager of our new paint facility," says Rob Brooks, company VP and general manager. "With this hangar in place, we are fully prepared to meet all of our customers’ completions and refurbishment needs. We are already accepting bookings for this new offering."

The paint shop is designed to accept business aircraft as large as the Bombardier Global XRS business jet. It will be the most modern and technologically advanced hangar for high-quality paint applications in North America and will complete the company’s full-service capability both for in-service and new-completion aircraft.

Environmentally friendly, with state-of-the-art filters and an independent waste water cleaning system, the facility will have also feature variable speed airflow, eliminating the need to pressurize the paint bay; and the capability to apply paint electrostatically. The paint bay is uniquely designed to ventilate and spray with a nose to tail cross-draft. These features provide a cleaner application, better adhesion and substantially less paint waste than with conventional spray methods.

Innotech Aviation has been a Bombardier Preferred Completion Center since 2005, and is also an authorized maintenance facility for Challenger and Global Express business jets.
