Approved Model List Extended For Avidyne MLX770

Amended STC Approval Adds Pilatus And Diamond Aircraft Plus The Addition Of  Avidyne’s Newest EX600 MFD As An Approved Display

The FAA has granted an amended STC to Avidyne for the MLX770 two-way worldwide Iridium datalink transceiver, which extends its approved model list (AML) to include Pilatus and Diamond aircraft. This amended STC also adds the EX600 multi-function display (MFD) as an approved display.

“We are continuing to expand the market for the MLX770 with additional aircraft approvals, and greater display compatibility,” said Avidyne Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Herguth. “Having access to worldwide weather products is vital for strategic planning and safety when flying anywhere in the world, and Avidyne is leading the way.”

The MLX770 is a single-channel Iridium transceiver that provides worldwide weather data products for display on Avidyne’s Entegra EX5000 and EX500 and EX600 Multi-Function Displays (MFD), as well as on Electronic Flight Bags from CMC and other manufacturers.  Utilizing Avidyne’s Network Operations Center (NOC) and the 66-satellite Iridium® constellation, the MLX770 is certified and flying now on a multitude of aircraft –from single-engine piston to twin turbofan aircraft and helicopters—around the world.

Standard weather products include worldwide graphical METARs, textual METARs and TAFs, Winds and Temps Aloft; regional Radar, Lightning, and Satellite IR products are offered through the Premium service. Additionally, the MLX770 provides convenient two-way text messaging between your airborne MFD or EFB and compatible ground-based SMS-capable mobile phones or e-mail addresses, allowing pilots to communicate with family and friends from their aircraft while in flight.

The retail price of the MLX770 Two-Way Datalink Transceiver is $11,995 including antenna. Datalink service pricing starts at $50 per month. Contact Avidyne for details on quarterly promotions.
