Wedding Celebration Downs Plane

Plane Reportedly Hit, Downed, Over Belgrade

Shooting your mouth off at a wedding is one thing. Shooting an airplane down is something altogether different. That's just what happened near Belgrade, Serbia October 10th.

Serb police say it's a centuries-old tradition to fire guns into the air to celebrate a wedding. This time, there just happened to be a single-engine aircraft flying low overhead.

Witnesses say the gunfire hit the plane's left wing, leading to a fire. The plane went down within sight of the wedding party. There were two people aboard the aircraft. They were reported to have suffered critical injuries.
