ERAU Faculty Experts And Industry Insiders To Discuss UAS Technology

Attend Online Or Join The Audience At The Free Public Event

Host Marc Bernier and a panel of Embry-Riddle faculty experts and industry insiders will discuss a timely topic, titled “All Around Us: Unmanned Aircraft Systems are Revolutionizing Aviation. Are You Ready?,” on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m., with a light reception at 6:30 p.m. preceding the event in Daytona Beach. At the Prescott Campus, the reception will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Student Union, followed by a live feed viewing of the program at 4 p.m.

Presented by the Embry-Riddle Alumni Association and the office of External Relations, this is the first Lift, Off the Page event, a free, live streaming roundtable discussion that invites members of the university community and the general public to learn, engage and share on topics relevant to Embry-Riddle and the industry.

The future of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) is explored in the fall edition of Lift, the alumni magazine of Embry-Riddle. More than 20 Embry-Riddle faculty experts and alumni working in the UAS field were interviewed for this topical examination of the industry’s obstacles and its ethical and privacy concerns as well as the potential benefits and shortcomings. The UAS industry is projected to create 70,000 jobs and generate $13.6 billion in economic impact by 2017.
