Equipment Lowered From A Helicopter Lands On Neighbor's Deck

A bad of seismic equipment that was intended to be used to measure siesmic activity in York county, PA, wound up on the deck of a house near the survey site, but it was all a misunderstanding, according to the company placeing the equipment and the FAA.

A report appearing in Pressconnects.com indicates that a helicopter had placed the bag of seismic conductors on a hill near a survey stake a safe distance from the house, but it rolled down a 100 foot embankement and came to rest on the deck of the home.

The FAA said the bag had been lowered by a cable from the helo and put in place about 50 feet from intended target, but it just didn't stay where it was supposed to.

There was no damage reported to the home. The company which was placing the equipment, Cougar Land Services, had no comment on the matter.
