Cessna Releases Next-Gen Official Photos

NGP, SLSA Concept Represent Company's Single Engine Future

After the introduction of the Cessna Special Light Sport Aircraft Proof of Concept Monday, and the fly-by of the Next Generation Piston technology demonstrator, the company released these three images, which are computer graphic renderings of the two aircraft.

We're showing you these because they're official Cessna pictures, and they show these one-off aircraft from angles you might not have seen previously.

One picture shows the SLSA in the air, and another on the ground. Some of the details in these images -- like the SLSA's flush-mounted rear window -- stand out to us (and is it just us, or does that window look optimally placed for a ballistic 'chute?)

The third picture shoes the NGP sitting on the ground. We've cropped this in more tightly to preserve as much of the detail of the original shot as possible.

You can also find these pictures on the Cessna website.

Meanwhile, we're curious about your, our readers', reactions. Would you buy a Cessna LSA ("158"?) A plane like the NGP? The NGP is supposed to represent a family of new aircraft, what kind of specs would it take for one of that family to become a member of your family? How do you think these planes compare to what you're flying now?

Drop us a line at editor@aero-news.net and tell us what you think.
