Boeing Sued By Evergreen

Evergreen International Claims "Breach Of Contract"

An Oregon airline that says it was given a contract to fly and maintain Boeing's "Dreamlifter" as part of the 787 supply chain has sued the plane maker for breach of contract. Evergreen International was told by Boeing last month that the contract was being switched to New York-based Atlas Air.

Last week, Evergreen sued Boeing for breach of contract, claiming the move will cost the company $175 million in profits. Evergreen says Boeing should pay that amount. The company had been given a long-term contract, but it was subject to review every five months.

The Associated Press reports that Boeing says they switched the contract because of nearly $1 billion owed to Atlas due to delays in delivering the 747-8. Beyond that, the company had no other comment.
