Bell Boeing Heartened by DoD Look at Osprey

The Bell and Boeing folks wanted us to relay this to you. From their mouth, to your eyes:

Bell Boeing is pleased the Defense Acquisition Board (DAB), chaired by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (USD/AT&L), which met on May 20, 2003, has determined  the V-22 flight test program is proceeding extremely well and the technical progress of the flight testing validates the revolutionary and transitional nature of the aircraft.

We are delighted the DAB found the technical progress of the V-22 sufficient to consider increasing production past the minimum sustaining rate.

This indicates, we believe, renewed confidence in the V-22 as demonstrated by the success of the aircraft during its return to flight program.  All of us who are part of the Bell Boeing team are enormously proud of the tremendous strides made over the past two years.  We continue to be committed to make the V-22 among the most operationally effective aircraft in the Department of Defense fleet.
