The Passengers Are Revolting

And The Plane's In Bad Shape, Too

It started when a German passenger aboard an Air China flight from Beijing to Nanchang noticed something just didn't sound right as the pilot started the engines. In spite of an apparent language barrier, the German's concerns became the entire cabin's concerns and the flight was stopped before it could take off.

"The man beside me is a German mechanical engineer. He said such noises indicated something wrong with the aircraft. Its conditions might not fit flying," the Beijing Times reported, quoting a female passenger identified only as Ma.

The crew, heeding the cries of passengers, taxied the aircraft back to the ramp and called in mechanics, who indeed found a major oil leak in one of the engines. The flight was delayed four hours before the aircraft was finally repaired and sent on its way.
