Two Receive Master Instructor Designation In March

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Two instructors have renewed their Master Instructor designation in the month of March.

Master Instructors LLC said in a news release that all were accredited as Masters by Master Instructors LLC, the international Master Instructor accrediting authority. All obtained their designation through the Master Instructor "Fluid Review" program online.

Professional aviation educators who earned or renewed their "Master" title during March 2018 are:

Michael Joseph "Mike" Elliott, Tarpon Springs, FL.
Michael J Elliott, a 3-time Master and SAFE member, renewed his Master CFI accreditation March 1, 2018. The founder of Florida's Mooney Summit, Mike is an independent flight instructor who teaches nationally as well as at Clearwater Air Park (CLW) where he specializes in Mooney transition training.  He also serves as an AOPA Airport Support Network (ASN) volunteer at Hidden Lake Airport (FA40) as well as a FAASTeam representative in the FAA's Birmingham FSDO area. Michael Joseph "Mike" Elliott Eric Joseph Shappee

Eric Joseph Shappee, Salina, KS.
Eric J Shappee, a 7-time Master and SAFE member, renewed his Master CFI accreditation March 15, 2018. Eric is a professor of aviation at Kansas State University’s Polytechnic Campus. Eric is a flight, ground and classroom instructor and is based at the Salina Municipal Airport (SLN).  Further, Eric is active in both the University Aviation Association (UAA) and the Civil Air Patrol. Many of the most recent National Flight Instructors of the Year or National FAASTeam Representatives of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.
