Larger Version Of The md4-1000
A new VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) quadcopter ... Avyon's md4-3000 ... will make its North American debut at the end of year, the company announced this week at the AUVSI conference in Atlanta. The aircraft is a larger evolution of the popular model the md4-1000 – able to carry a heavier payload and a new aerodynamic design. Avyon will showcase the md4-3000 on May 5th 2015 at AUVSI trade show to experts in the UAV industry.
“The md4-1000 was successfully used with DHL and their project for beyond-line-of-sight autonomous deliveries, so we have high expectations for the md4-3000 as it goes into flight testing mode in the next few weeks. The increased payload and range capacity of the md4-3000 will introduce endless possibilities for the North American market including future courier services such as UPS, Fed Ex and Purolator,” said Vivien Heriard Dubreuil, president of Avyon.
Avyon and partner Microdrones GmbH (Germany) are settings production of the md4-3000 in Canada, joining its successful predecessors, the md4-200 and the md4-1000. The Microdrones product family is available to serve the public services sector, such as police, search and rescue teams, fire departments as well as the industrial inspection and mapping community. Surveyors, archaeologists, environmental researchers, and media agencies, will likely benefits from the larger payload while still maintaining extended flight time. The md4-3000 has a capacity of 3kg, which will allow for a new range of sensors.
