Smartphone-Controlled Paper Airplane To Be Displayed At AirVenture

Tiny Flyer Will Be Shown In The Innovation Center ... Where Else?

There are thousands of flying machines at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh every year, but this year a tiny Bluetooth-powered paper airplane will be getting a lot of buzz. PowerUp Toys, inventor of the wireless paper airplanes, has combined the definitive DIY homemade toy with current technology to create the next generation of paper airplanes.

Their product is the familiar folded piece of paper with an attached fuselage/propeller/motor that’s controlled by a smartphone though a special app. PowerUp’s latest release of the 3.0 version adds Bluetooth-powered controllability to the earlier version that was named the Australian Toy Association’s 2012 Best Hobby Product of the Year for its innovative, eco-friendly design.

PowerUp is just one of the more than 20 original, cutting-edge companies will also show off their own inventions in the EAA Innovation Center, presented by the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. Among the featured products are a hover bike, a flying car, and 3-D printing. The EAA Innovation Center is located in College Park at AirVenture Oshkosh.
