IFD540 Reaches ‘Red Label’ Milestone

Avidyne Ends Early-Purchase Program, Announces $500 Rebate

Avidyne says the certification process for the IFD540 is "officially in the home stretch" on its journey to FAA approval. "We have reached ‘Red Label’ status," the company said in an eBulletin released to the media. "The FAA has scheduled flight tests for the week of July 14 in Melbourne FL.  That is the same week and location as the DO-200A Compliance Audit."

Avidyne says it is still confident that a TSO and an AML-STC an be obtained in time to allow for shipping prior to Oshkosh.

Red Label marks the end of the early-purchase program for the instrument, so all new aftermarket IFD540 sales will be exclusively through the company's dealer network.

Once shipping is underway, early-purchase customers will be notified one month before their contracted delivery date in order to schedule their installation date and dealer preference.

Avidyne has also launched a new $500 Rebate program for the IFD540. The promotion is valid for IFD540 units ordered through Avidyne Authorized Dealers between July 1, 2014 and August 31, 2014. The units must ship from Avidyne by 12/31/2014.
