Porter Airlines' president and CEO, Robert Deluce, has been formally inducted into Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame (CAHF) at a ceremony held in Vancouver. The honor represents a continuing career that began by assisting his parents as a boy with their small hunting and fishing charter service in Northern Ontario, through to his current position at Porter. Deluce is the airline's founding CEO, having served in the role for more than a decade.

NASA and Honeywell have completed a two-year test to determine the most effective way to show pilots flying supersonic jets where people on the ground may hear sonic booms, potentially eliminating one of the primary barriers to the broad adoption of supersonic flight. The testing program successfully integrates predictive software and display technology into business jet cockpits, and demonstrated how pilots can see where, and how, sonic booms would affect the population on the ground.

Boeing and Okay Airways have announced an order for 15 737 MAX airplanes, valued at $1.8 billion at current list prices. The order consists of eight 737 MAX 10s and seven 737 MAX 8s. Okay Airways becomes one of the launch customers of the 737 MAX 10, the newest member of the MAX family.

Embraer Marks One Year Of E190 Operations In Japan

Receives E190 Firm Order From JAL

Japan Airlines has placed a firm order with Embraer for an additional E190 after Embraer marks one year of E190 operations in Japan. Japan Airlines' subsidiary J-AIR made its first E190 revenue flight in May 2016. J-AIR currently operates seven E190s and 17 E170s – 24 E-Jets in total, with an additional eight E-Jets on backlog. The firm order has a value of $50.6 million, based on 2017 list prices, and will be included in Embraer's 2017 second-quarter backlog.
