Paramount Sued Over Rights to Blockbuster Film

Maverick Reports Light Chop

Paramount Pictures has been sued by the family of Ehud Yonay, author of the 1983 article Top Guns, upon which the 1986 blockbuster film Top Gun was based. The suit was brought by the author’s heirs, Shosh and Yuval Yonay, who allege Paramount's rights to the article ended in 2020. Paramount—in a reported move that belies Top Gun: Maverick’s 08 May 2021 completion date—argued the film was "sufficiently completed" before its rights to the original article expired.

Ethics Board Quits Over Proposed Drone Technology

Axon Shelves Promising Program

Taser-maker Axon Enterprise Inc. has announced it’s shelving a promising project that would equip drones with stun guns for purpose of combating mass shootings. U.S. Navy C-26D Makes Italy to Texas Maintenance Flight

A U.S. Navy C-26D aircraft has accomplished a 2,241 mile, eight-day, eight-stop, eight-country flight from a U.S. Navy facility in Naples, Italy to a repair depot in New Braunfels, Texas. Such a flight seems unremarkable by modern, U.S. Military cargo aircraft standards. And it would have been, were not the C-26D the U.S. Navy version of the Fairchild Metroliner 23–a 1970s vintage, 19-seat, twin-turboprop, commuter airliner.
