MVP LSA Set For World Tour

One of the darlings of Oshkosh this past summer was the MVP "Most Versatile Plane" that was unveiled at a news conference early in the week. The new LSA amphibious airplane was shown complete with a hammock for relaxing between flights, and a unique foredeck design that can accommodate camping gear or be converted into a fishing platform.

Lithuanian Aerobatic Pilot Survives Bailout Over Aegean Sea

SU-26 Down After Engine Failure During Flight To Athens

Lithuanian aerobatic pilot Jurgis Kairys found himself in an untenable position during a flight from Kavala to Athens in Greece earlier this week. His SU-26 airplane suffered an engine failure over the Aegean Sea, and Kairys determined that his best chance for survival was to bail out of the airplane.

AeroSports Update: CAP Fox Valley Composite Squadron Sets Paper Plane Record

A Paper Airplane Makes It To Near Space And Back, But This Paper Plane Is More High Tech Than Some Full Size Planes

On Saturday, September 13, Fox Valley Composite Squadron, the local unit of the Illinois Wing, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), beat the Guinness World Record of “Highest Paper Airplane Flight from a High Altitude Balloon”. The paper airplane was launched from Kankakee, IL and achieved an altitude of 96,563 feet (18.3 miles into the Stratosphere) and then safely landing, 82 miles away, Southwest of Rochester, IN.
