GAMA/Build A Plane Aviation Design Challenge Winners Start Glasair Sportsman

Airplane Will Be Ready To Taxi In Two Weeks

Students Derrick Cleaves, Logan Feltz, Austin Krause, and Natasha Stemwedel, teacher Mike Hansen, and chaperone Jerry Graf—the winners of the GAMA/Build A Plane 2016 Aviation Design Challenge—will spend the next two weeks building a Glasair Sportsman airplane at Glasair Aviation in Arlington, Washington, as their prize. The team from Weyauwega-Fremont High School in Weyauwega, Wisconsin won the all-expenses-paid trip to assemble the Sportsman as part of the fourth annual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) competition.
