USCG MH-65 To The Rescue!

The Coast Guard rescued a pilot of a downed aircraft last week in St. John the Baptist Parish. Rescued was Calvin King, who was transported that evening to University Medical Center in New Orleans with a reportedly broken arm and no other reported injuries. The FAA ASIAS site says that the aircraft involved was N567N, a Piper PA38 Tomahawk and that the, "Aircraft lost engine power and crashed in a marsh, Reserve, La." Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report around 9 p.m. from the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office that a single engine plane had crashed in a swampy area north of Port of South Louisiana Executive Regional Airport, with one person aboard.

HSM-70, Gerald R. Ford Land Four MH-60R Sea Hawk Helicopters On Ford’s Flight Deck While Moored

Ford (CVN 78) and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 70 worked together to land four MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopters on Ford’s flight deck while the ship was moored at Naval Station Norfolk, Aug. 30. HSM-70, stationed in Jacksonville, Florida executed the rare, pier-side fly-on to quickly enable follow-on operations during Independent Steaming event (ISE) 12, while ensuring the health of the crew during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
