First deployed during the Vietnam War, the CH-53D helicopter made its final flight in Helmand province, Afghanistan, Aug. 16. For the “Ugly Angels” of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 362, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), being a part of the final flight that ended a legacy in Marine aviation came with mixed emotions.

Airman Missing In Action From WWII Identified

First Lt. Harry Eck Was Aboard A B-17G That Went Down Over Germany

The remains of a U.S. serviceman, missing in action from World War II, have been identified and returned to his family for burial with full military honors, according to the Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO).
