The first upgraded Puma Mk2 helicopter developed by Eurocopter
in a life extension program for the UK's Royal Air Force performed
its initial flight last week from Eurocopter's facility at
Marignane, France.
The airplane is thought to be only one of two airworthy
two-place Spitfires in the UK, and its pilot is a 58 year old woman
who learned to fly the airplane after her husband, who had restored
it, was killed in an automobile accident in 1988.
