Leonardo Demonstrates Its AW159 Helicopter To Malaysia’s Armed Forces

Aircraft Already In Service With The Republic Of Korea Navy And Will Enter Service With The Philippine Navy In 2019

Leonardo, with the support of the UK’s 847 Naval Air Squadron, presented its AW159 Wildcat helicopter to Malaysia’s Armed Forces at Royal Malaysian Navy Base Lumut and Leonardo Helicopters’ facility at Subang Airport, near Kuala Lumpur last week. The two AW159 Wildcats are part of the French Navy’s five month amphibious deployment, Exercise Jeanne d’Arc, to the Middle East, Asia and South Pacific and are embarked on the helicopter assault ship FS Dixmude to provide a battlefield reconnaissance capability to the deployed forces.

GA-ASI Demos Flight Deck Taxi Capability For MQ-25

Deck Operations Use Special Director Wands To Guide Aircraft

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has successfully demonstrated aircraft carrier deck handling to include taxi capability and transition to the launch and recovery phases using a Predator C Avenger jet aircraft as a surrogate. As part of the proposed MQ-25 solution, GA-ASI has demonstrated that the new carrier-based unmanned tanker can integrate with the complexities of existing flight deck operations.

Dynetics Selected For Demonstration Phase Of DARPA’s Gremlins Program

Receives 21-Month, $38.6 Million Contract

Dynetics, Inc. has been selected as the top performer for Phase 3 of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Gremlins program. Managed out of DARPA’s Tactical Technology Office (TTO), the objective of Gremlins is to accelerate the ability to perform aerial launch and recovery of volley quantities of low-cost, reusable unmanned aerial systems (UASs). This capability, once demonstrated and matured, enables a significant expansion of distributed architectures for airborne operations.
