For many who spent part of last week in Palm Springs involved in
all the activities surrounding AOPA's 2006 Conference, one day was
similar in many ways to the next. With that in mind, though,
Saturday, November 11, 2006, was also Veteran's Day.
The "regular Joe" on the street may have heard about the Civil
Air Patrol (CAP), but may have very little idea of what it actually
stands for and why young people, as young as middle-school-aged,
choose to join the CAP as cadets.
Veteran's Day 2006 also signals the return of another of our
brethren to his home. The Department of Defense POW/Missing
Personnel Office has announced that the remains of a U.S. Air Force
officer missing in action from the Vietnam War have been
identified.
