'Gator Encounter' Apparently Not A Hit With Employees
Here's a term which may be unique to Florida: "Nuisance
Alligator."At a parking lot at Vero Beach Municipal Airport used by
about 800 employees of Piper Aircraft each day, a security guard
encountered a four-foot alligator under a parked car Monday.
The La Grande Airtanker Base (LGATB) at the Union County, OR,
airport has once again been officially closed to all airtanker
operations. Permanent repairs began on September 24 to the apron
leading to the concrete retardant loading pads.
With the future of the National Championship Air Races at Reno
being questioned, at least one of those still hospitalized after
the crash of the Galloping Ghost on September 16 says the tragedy
should not bring an end to the event.
