AgustaWestland says it has recieved orders for three helicopters
and has completed delivery of a fourth this week. Blueway AS of
Norway has signed a contract for one additional AW139 medium twin
helicopter, which will be used for offshore transport operations.
On practically the other side of the planet, FAS (Falcon Aviation
Services) of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) has signed a contract
for a GrandNew light twin and a preliminary sale contract for two
AW169 helicopters.
Building Market Share In The Depths Of The Recession
The company that started as Northern Airborne Technology was
bought by Cobham about 15 years ago, and as part of that move,
decided to consolidate much of its manufacturing back into the US.
But a few divisions, such as AEM, stayed home in Canada. Anodyne
Electronics Manufacturing now builds and distributes a very diverse
product line that it has been building for 27 years. AEM hopes to
be able to expand its product line and grow from 49 to 70 employees
during the depths of the recession.
Asking Prices On Resale Bizjets Ticked Up 3.5 Percent
One of the reasons often given for slow sales of new business
aircraft is the existing inventory of pre-owned aircraft on the
market. Recent data from JETNET
may indicate that the inventory is shrinking, causing
prices in some sectors to firm up just a
bit. In its August, 2011 report reflecting resale statistics
for the first eight months of the year, the
analyst released some long-hoped-for good news, at least in
business jet retail sale transactions.
