Mirabel Airports to Levy $65-Per-Landing Fee

Minister Warns of Airport Administration of Cooling Effect on Local Flight Training

The airport administration of the Montreal, Canada area has made a deeply unpopular decision at its Mirabel location. Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) has added an additional fee for its handling of ATC costs for local french-speaking aviators, looking for ways to bring in additional funding to plug a shortfall of hundreds of millions of dollars in its administration. Mirabel airport has announced a fee of $65 per landing, and local flight training staff say the change will make their school's annual fees downright punitive.

Charter Operator Contracted for Gear Testing by French Defense Procurement

France’s General Directorate of Armament (DGA-AT), awarded a 5-year contract to a local Héli-Béarn Kodiak 100 rental for the evaluation of aeronautical equipment and techniques, with the aircraft flown up to 200 flight hours annually. Appareo To Be Acquired by AGCO

Agriculture Corporation Says Team, Operations to Stay in Fargo, ND

Appareo is reportedly in the process of being acquired. AGCO, an agricultural equipment company, has signaled its intent to add the manufacturer of off-grid aviation equipment to its portfolio of gear providers. They reportedly agreed to the acquisition because of the firm's engineering and manufacturing capabilities, seeing value in their know-how and development expertise. Appareo's aeronautical portfolio includes flight data recorders, monitoring recorders, imaging systems,aircraft communication units, speech recognition units, and the popular GA Stratus product line.

NTSB Prelim: Cessna 182L

As The Two Airplanes Neared Hot Springs, Arkansas, They “Were In Full IMC”

On December 3, 2021, about 1823 central standard time, a Cessna 182L, N182NS, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Bonnerdale, Arkansas. The non-instrument rated private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. The accident airplane was the lead airplane in a flight of two that departed Mendin, Louisiana (MNE), about 1738, destined for Clarksville, Arkansas (H35).
