Aero Club Speech Repeats Call For GA User Fees, Tax Hikes
In a speech to the Aero Club of Washington this week,
Transportation Secretary Mary Peters told a gathering of aviation
industry leaders Congress needs to act, and act soon, on an FAA
reauthorization bill. That was music to the ears of the Aircraft
Owners and Pilots Association... but alas, much of what Peters had
to say otherwise struck the association as more of the same old,
and rather tired, song.
Orlando-area youngsters, ages 8-17, will have a chance to take
to the skies on Saturday, February 9 - weather permitting -- as
Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 74 hosts a Young
Eagles Flight Rally at Kissimmee-Gateway airport. The original
Young Eagles Flight Rally scheduled for January 19 was cancelled
due to inclement weather, and has been rescheduled.
New College Of Business Building To Open Next Week
When managers at AirTran Airways needed to improve efficiency
and effectiveness in passenger boarding strategies, ground
equipment use, and employee distribution, they turned to the
College of Business at the Daytona Beach, FL campus of Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University.
