An aircraft whose wings can be moved in flight, to change the amount of sweep. When flying at high speed, the wings are swept back. For low speed flying, such as takeoff or landing, the wings are much straighter to maximize lift. Examples are the F-14 Tomcat, F-111 Aardvark, and B-1 Bomber.
