in damage to US civil and military aviation annually and put the
lives of aircraft crew members and their passengers at risk.
In the mid-1960's, Lockheed engineers took on the challenge of
designing a quiet aircraft that could see, but not be seen or
heard, in the night, like the Army’s YO-3A "Quiet Star."
