Designed in partnership with FedEx, the Cessna Sky Courier was on display at Oshkosh and we talked to Chris Hearne, Sr VP of Engineering and Programs at Textron Aviation to get more details. “FedEx has an order of 50, plus an order for 50 options. Our relationship goes back to the early 80’s and we have just embraced that over the years and having them at the very beginning of this program give us that customer input that has just been invaluable to the team. They truly have their fingerprints all over this design,” says Hearne.

The RedTail Flight Academy celebrated the opening of its flight academy September 10th at New York Stewart International Airport. Honoring the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, the RedTail Flight Academy will train seven aspiring Black aviators from inadequately serviced communities. Since 1977, the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists (PASS) has represented more than 11,000 employees of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Defense (DoD) who install, maintain, support and certify air traffic control and national defense equipment, inspect and oversee the commercial and general aviation industries, develop flight procedures, and perform quality analyses of complex aviation systems used in air traffic control and national defense in the United States and abroad.
Rescue Coordination Center (RCC)
A search and rescue (SAR) facility equipped and manned to coordinate and control SAR operations in an area designated by the SAR plan. The U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Air Force have responsibility for the operation of RCCs.
