Feds Say State Aircraft Do Not Meet Standards For Firefighting
Montana Governor Steve Bullock has sent a letter to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack expressing frustration that firefighting helicopters contracted by the State of Montana are not allowed to assist with fires which break out on federal land.
This looks a lot like a huge knee-jerk reaction that is completely out of proportion to the situation by which it was prompted. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has ordered two stores at Newark Liberty International Airport to stop selling small UAVs, citing concerns about safety.
Hard Landing Injures Two People On Board The Aircraft
A Robinson R44 helicopter with two people on board made a hard landing Saturday in Grimes County, TX, resulting in the injury of both occupants of the aircraft. Both survived the accident.
