Eclipse Surprises Attendees With ECJ Concept

Eclipse Aviation -- and company CEO Vern Raburn, in particular -- certainly have a flair for the dramatic. At a kickoff press event early Monday morning, before the gates opened at AirVenture 2007, the planemaker took the wraps off a concept model of its Eclipse Concept Jet: a single engine, four-passenger, slightly futuristic-in-appearance V-tailed aircraft intended to test the waters in the emerging Personal Jet category.

Designed For Certified GA Planes

Aspen Avionics is evolving... and so is its product line. On Monday at AirVenture 2007, the Albuquerque, NM-based avionics manufacturer introduced its Evolution Flight Display system, intended exclusively for certified general aviation (GA) aircraft.

L-3 Avionics Systems, a division of L-3 Communications, announced Monday at AirVenture 2007 it is configuring its Iris Infrared Imaging System for use on 14-volt aircraft. Testing is underway and the 14-volt system is expected to be available this fall.
